Hi Sir, It is good. But it looks a bit similar to that of the one in Gulabi or Gaayam(or a mix of both). I am sorry for being negative…but it still looks good. Has the shooting started sir? All the best sir. But I am still waiting for your response on Nishabd, Company and …. But if you are busy with the film, fine, kindly keep us updated on this, we would be glad for that one as well!!!Thanks,Chandu

  2. Bharat says:

The following is a quote from a book called \’Dune\’ by Frank Herbert. You might find it interesting, in light of your movie -My father once told me that respect for the
truth comes close to being the basis for all morality. "Something
cannot emerge from nothing, " he said. This is profound thinking if you
understand how unstable "the truth" can be.

  3. Krishna says:

Ramu Sir,The looks of the poster is good and especially the caption is very apt and excellent. Very few times, I will feel a tremendous impact after seeing the title and the caption (tagline) and this is one among them…… It is this impact that matters but not the design, font and layout etc… But I have a question.. Is there any significance for the Red Color in the poster and the title??All the Best,Swaroop

  5. VJ says:

Ramu,Impressive logo of the fillum RuN. Congrats. U r xtremely creative. But again do print and electronic media be compared with the underworld? The poster reminds us of that dark, underworld. Why not a Hollywoodesque look of 3-piece suit conmen who operate in the open but cloak their biases, prejudices in the garb of upholding the \’fourth estate\’ of democracy? In reality these modern mediamen are clean faces, elitist, posh and haughty but keep business interests at the centre of their thinking (which in itself is not wrong). P.S : May be ur KaSi on Media is reflected in this logo. RGV is RGV. U r a bad adversary.

  6. VJ says:

The two knives are what u think abt media. They hurt u badly…..Zakhmi Ramu :((((I am sure media would give more than enuff coverage and u\’d laugh with good collections. U r a smart operator. :))

  7. srinivas says:

U are like the "JOKER" in "The Dark Knight" who cannot be reasoned, negotiated and confuse others by intellectual..

  8. Unknown says:

    hi ramu,

    its good…
resembles the unseen battle happening in this country

  9. Unknown says:

The logo is reflecting the shades of your Gangster movies. Instead of Darkness, few images of news paper clipps(could be any thing which shows that the movie is about media) as back ground would be better. I am not giving any suggestion, Just I am telling my view. Thats all.

        Wish you all the best.

  10. Unknown says:

read the below in a telugu daily.
"…who says media doesn\’t show any restraint..when one of the channel guy who is known for  his flirting nature was attacked by his latest girl friend\’s relatives (apparently an acid attack) not a single channel had that coverage, may be because they were afraid that once they report this incident they would have to say why it happened which wud have raised unpleasant questions and answers, hence the restraint…you see , it is not so juicy as reporting a double murder of cousins in usa where you can distort and come up with illicit relationship that might have been the reason…"

my suggestion for what ever it is worth.. don\’t just fuck them..rape and fuck these b*****ds so hard that they would think 100 times before they comeup with sensational breaking news next time..

  11. sagar says:

Are you making a war-epic or what? There is no hint of media and in fact it resembles some kind of bloodshed.I aint teaching u but the thought that came to me first after seeing it.

  12. krishna says:

AWESOME… Plzzzz dont think that i have given u a complement… i am giving the complement to the designer.

  13. Unknown says:

ramu, if anything you seem to have an awesome knack of getting people to hate you, eh? i mean, a well-wisher wishes you for diwali and you end up scorning him (seriously, that\’s not funny!). the first response i had was to go out and kick your ass! why antagonize when you can just ignore? (i know, i have the sunday school teacher streak in me. it\’s ok, you don\’t have to touch my feet!) you are basically a brilliant educated goonda who has only one aim in life: to rebel without a cause. now buzz off and mutilate this comment to your advantage so you can show off your intelligence and wit – or the lack thereof! :))

  14. Unknown says:

please write about gaayam and nishabd……………and ur experince wid MCKENNAS GOLD

  15. Kiran says:

Ramu, what is your philosophy of life and your idea of a perfect life? (Please dont quote Ayn Rand or Nietzche, come with your original thoughts)

  16. Dinesh says:

Overall Impact of design shows your dark mind. Impress
Please don\’t compose beground music like Sarkar, Aag.
Music sounds great as in Jungle, Nishabd, Company, Must, Rangeela, Naach,

  17. Dinesh says:

Poster of Phoonk was really great but film and
music so dirty. Don’t try to make fool us this time, give it your 100%
otherwise we are not going to west our important 3 hour.

  18. mikey says:

Satya  has a subtle  message that those who take lives of others  for their survival would have the same fate at the end.I just want to know what is that u are trying to do with run?is it to reveal the hard hitting realities of the indian media? As per your basic understanding of its intrigues, what solution are u gonna give?just i am curious as to what u think is the solution so that media functions the way it should.

  19. gouravaraju says:

looks similar to that of raktha charitra. wat ever it may be wat do you think about swami vivekanada?

  20. Unknown says:

Media doesn\’t like to keep things in dark. So no more dark shots please 🙂 Poster itself is dark and serious…. complete opposite to Media of today.

  21. Unknown says:

You could have at least said "thank you" to the guy who wished you for Diwali before letting out your curious thought.

  22. Anil says:

Poster design katti laa vundi …If background is world map … at least show India in that map.Cheers,Anil

  23. sha says:

Sir,Its interesting …….if name is \’Rann\’ then \’Red blood\’ should be there.I am sure it will be your style of making & that makes it more interesting….want to know more about the movie.

  24. VIVEK says:

Ur poster designs are always good… most of the times promos are good as well… ITS THE MOVIE THAT SUCKS most of the times

  25. pulkit says:

RGV, your movies are so dark it almost takes joy away from life.

  26. pulkit says:

Do you still have that Video library saved ? You may need it in the futurre !

  27. Anil says:

You know what? You can add one more character just like yourself. That would be fun to see how you\’re going to portray yourself! :)Cheers

  28. Prudhvi Raju says:

Is there any reason behind often using red in the black background for your poster designs?

  29. Chris says:

    Nice poster layout!
    Interesting tagline.
It made me think of an alternate one…."The truth is not for sale" (not by the media, anyway!).
Well, it sounded better a minute ago. ha ha!

    All the best,
    Chris

  30. Anil says:

Hey Ramu …"Truth is Terrible" tag line may be used by critics to review your movie as "Rann is Terrible"Cheers,Anil

  31. Anil says:

Spend some time on your wiki page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ram_Gopal_VarmaAdd some dark photo ( like seriously thinking director 🙂 )

  32. Anand says:

Ram 🙂 appreciate your dry wit on my hope, you have kept my "hope" alive with the fab poster and an interesting tagline, awaiting for more updates. All the best
    Anand

  33. Dinesh says:

If I know anand then he is not only anand, he is Anand
Ji…  but why he is in rgv\’s blog i couldn\’t understand because I supposed
    that he was so busy.Dinesh

  34. Unknown says:

I have been seeing that these days the media invites a celebrity to a talk show and the host tries to over-act trying to prove that he is more intelligent than the celebrity. They ask him a question, already having a pre- conceived answer in their mind and all they do is to drive the celebrity towards the answer that they like. Also, the FM radio.Recently while i was driving, with my FM on.There was a "Call the radio" program where the RJ post this question "Whats your favourite book?" Almost 10 old people called in(because they were free) and started lecturing about Ramayan,Mahabharat and all devotional crap.So later RJ changed the question to "Tell me about your favourite holiday destination"The first call that came in,the guy started talking about their trip to Tirupathi.I immediately reached to the turn off button.

  35. Unknown says:

Which one do you enjoy watching more- "MacKenna\’s Gold" or "Once upon a time in the west"(altough I know opinions of movies differ with time!)

  36. Unknown says:

nice poster design rgv.me and my friends here in dubai are eagarly waiting for rann. we were disappointed because ur last movie phoonk was not released in UAE. i hope tht this is not going to happen with rann.

    all the best of rann.
    vinay.

  37. jaykanth says:

Hellow sir i am one of your big fan,the poster is excellent and very inspiring to see.SIR show the power and tallent of ram gopal varma in RANN all the best

  38. Unknown says:

u dont seem to take adverse comments against you too well. you just top them off with some vague sarcastic remarks of urs which dont mean anything. Coming to the point, Rann eerily seems to have been inspired from Madhur Bhandarkar films especially Corporate… Have you run out of ideas? Or u just want to follow the time tested way of copying from here and there and then making a movie…. ?

  39. Mohan says:

    Ramugaru,
Excellent poster..I liked it..amazing…daily how much time do u spend on your blog..anyway all the best….

  40. Rajsekhar says:

Like your movies, like your blog even more. But did not like the poster of Rann. The movie is about media, agree that it is a thriller of different kind but it surely is not violent, so why the red with black background. The poster misleads the viewer (my prespective) to think this one is another scary ghost story.Another comment on Rann, when you started off, this movie was about the media, but the characters seem to be only from the TV industry. Was it intentional ?

  41. Arun says:

The women-extras or dancers in Contract\’s song are beautiful. You must have had a good time shooting them I guess.

  42. parimi says:

i feel, truth is horrifing than fantasy ! how is the  tag line for rann Mr. Varma ? anyway u wont accept with me, but still i want to see my comment on ur blog. with love, satya

  43. E says:

Hi RGV,Its great that you are sharing your RANN project with us audience.I think this is something unique in the Indian history of Cinema. No director or filmmaker I know has ever done this before. This can be seen in Hollywood but not in India…you have the viral marketing technique……a very powerful and inexpensive device to rake up interest in the public….who use existing social networking..structures..to maximise awareness…about a product or brand…the big house productions..bring up teaser trailers…well before the sequel is coming out..like the spidey series…or batman….which eventually generates so much interest..among the public..that they come up in discussion boards..online forums….But of course today you have so many tools at your disposal to reach your target audience. As I mentioned in my first comment ..this blog is a great tool for you to communicate directly ..with your fans..and everyone…and you are using it to the optimum…the poster looks great but what with that longish…last syllable…half of your poster has been occupied with that…posters are always great before we watch the movie…i still remember how the The Matrix posters mesmerized me…..as they say..your eyes are windows to your soul…the same way..the poster also conveys the same thing…but also sometimes we should be careful….to judge the book by its cover!!!!CheersEVP.S. I know why you use the red color a lot…….

  44. thirumal says:

WE EXPECT THE STRIPTEASE OF ANDHRA\’ MEDIA TYCOON TOO IN YOUR WHOLE  PROCESS.

  45. Chet says:

nice poster design though it confirms my belief that the look of this film will be similar to Sarkar-shadows,close-ups,et al.Get over over that now please..this one needs a more glossy "hollow" look as it concerns the media.sorry about telling you what to do but DO NOT want to endure another Aa(rr)g.

  46. prakash says:

    Sir,

Sorry for being dumb to wish u diwali. I am now sure you\’re a true athiest – a rare breed indeed! Btw, a kolkata based publishing house has agreed to publish my book, In search of GOD. The protagonist is an atheist and I\’ve drawn inspiration from your past interviews (before the blog bug bit you). Sir, will you write something as paperback notes for my book, if you like it?

  47. Aravind says:

Yes truth sometimes is terrible,  the poster is horrible. Remove \’a ram gopal verma film\’ from it and it looks like a B grade film poster.  Dude, you need some serious advice and I am busy right now. Why are other people\’s names not mentioned on it.And, what does \’a ram gopal verma film\’ mean, a film made by ram gopal verma, a film made for ram gopal verma or a film made on ram gopal verma.

  52. Kishore says:

Sir , Do u brush your teeth and ……………

  53. Jonah says:

what do you think about this .. "There\’s a whore in everyone.. so just tell me your price.. "

  54. Jonah says:

i had a doubt..do the actors in your movie know that you are copying a particular scene from a movie and do you explain them or show them that video.. ?or its all running thru your head

  55. Avinash says:

Will AB\’s character resemble Robert Redford in Up Close & Personal? Regardless, it would be better if it sans shades of Subash Nagre\’s?

  56. vishank says:

Its awefucksome !!! definitely on my wallpaper…
